America's Most Sinful City (top five)
21+ min ago (182+ words) America's sin problem isn't confined to Las Vegas, according to a new study. While the Nevada gambling and tourist destination remains true to its reputation as "Sin City," it turns out America has no shortage of cities promoting vice and illicit behavior. A WalletHub study released Nov. 17 collected data from several sources on 182 cities nationwide and assessed 37 vices and criminal activity, ranging from excessive drinking to violent crime and the number of adult entertainment establishments per capita, to determine which cities are the most "sinful" in the nation. The study's title, "Most Sinful Cities in America," isn't necessarily synonymous with "least religious," according to WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo. Any such list is erroneous and irrelevant if it doesn't have Washington DC at the top. Las Vegas, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta Nor did it mention Orlando - the city of lost…...

Family auctions off cache of gold coins from the reign of King Henry VIII found in their backyard
51+ min ago (251+ words) Back in April of 2020, a British family who was stuck at home during the pandemic lockdown busied themselves with some yardwork at their home in Hampstead and ended up unearthing a cache of 69 gold coins from the Tudor period. The family, who have asked to remain anonymous, registered the remarkable find with the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme, but the discovery was not publicly announced at the time. The coins are all dated between the 1420s and 1530s, showing the images of the four English kings from that time period: Henry VI, Edward IV, Henry VII, and Henry VIII. Astronomy Picture of the Day - The Surface of Titan from Huygens
1+ hour, 6+ min ago (285+ words) Explanation: If you could stand on Titan -- what would you see? The featured color view from Titan gazes across an unfamiliar and distant landscape on Saturn's largest moon. The scene was recorded by ESA's Huygens probe in 2005 after a 2.5-hour descent through a thick atmosphere of nitrogen laced with methane. Bathed in an eerie orange light at ground level, rocks strewn about the scene could well be composed of water and hydrocarbons frozen solid at an inhospitable temperature of negative 179 degrees C. The large light-toned rock below and left of center is only about 15 centimeters across... Explanation: If you could stand on Titan -- what would you see? How significant was an EU ruling on same-sex marriage?
1+ hour, 16+ min ago (335+ words) Last Tuesday, the European Union's top court ordered Poland to recognize the marriage of a same-sex couple who had wed in Germany. In delivering its verdict, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) kept the language broad, referring to the obligation of "a member state" to recognize same-sex marriages registered in other EU member states. It means that a Czech, Romanian or Bulgarian court " or any other EU member state where same-sex marriage is not recognized " will now have to take the verdict into consideration if a similar case arises in their jurisdiction. The case in question involved a married Polish couple, Jakub Cupriak-Trojan and Mateusz Trojan, who tied the knot in Berlin in 2018 while residing in Germany. When they returned to live in Poland the following year, they tried to register their marriage at Warsaw's civil registry…...
Salvation Army No Longer Accepting Bills or Coins with White People on Them
1+ hour, 18+ min ago (241+ words) ALEXANDRIA, VA'In an effort to root out racism, the Salvation Army announced they will no longer be accepting any donations in the form of bills or coins that have white people on them. This new policy has required some modifications to their standard donation procurement; red donation buckets seen outside of retail establishments will now be accompanied by a bell ringer, a money examiner, and a public shamer to loudly criticize the donor for trying to help the poor with evil, white supremacist money. The Salvation Army later announced they have defeated racism and have also filed for bankruptcy. Sunday thought: The Bigot in the Oval Office
1+ hour, 19+ min ago (309+ words) This week's shooting of two National Guard members by a gunman identified by the authorities as an Afghan national was horrific. But Trump's response has been disproportionate and bigoted. He vows to "permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries." He intends to deport legal immigrants born in countries the White House deems "high risk." Sorry Robert but I ain't no immigrant And the only bigots I see are Robert Third Reich and the other leftards. And MY ancestors came here about 200 years ago. Come over legally like my dad did. And stay off welfare. Trump is not a bigot. He is a realist. I was born here. The sawed-off runt weighs in. Not even coming close to agreeing with this article. Trump is correct - we have NO NEED for those folks right now, or in the future. Those folks = Muslims....
